About Us
Welcome to Coleman's Farm Markets! We are a family owned and operated open-air market, serving the Ypsilanti area since 1974. Kermit Coleman opened The Market as a young entrepreneur, fresh out of high school, with the support of his mom, Beattie. What began as a young man's dream has since blossomed into a thriving family business and community icon.
A second Coleman's Farm Market location (Michigan Ave and Carpenter Road) was opened by Beattie in 1986 and is currently operated by her grandson and his family. You can visit their website here.
Products
We offer a variety of fruits and vegetables throughout the season, focusing on Michigan grown produce when available. At the market you can also find a great selection of jams, jellies, salsas, pickles, and local Michigan honey.
In the Spring we have an extensive selection of annuals, perennials, herbs, hanging baskets, and garden fruit and vegetable plants. When fully stocked, our selection includes over 30 varieties of tomatoes and over 25 varieties of peppers! While at the market, don't forget to pick up some topsoil, potting soil, Michigan peat, composted manure, cypress mulch and/or straw for all of your planting needs.
We are open with Christmas trees, wreaths, and garland beginning the day after Thanksgiving, until roughly December 22nd.
